One of the natural laws of the business world is that people do business with those that they know, that they like, and that they trust.
And I think that this can easily be true when it comes to leadership. People will follow and perform for leaders that they know like, and trust - at least at a more elevated way.
This concept was coined from a marketing expert and author by the name of Bob Burg. He coined the “know, like, and trust” phrase in his book that was called Endless Referrals. He said: “All things being equal, people will do business with and refer business to those people they know like, and trust.”
Do you have that know like, and trust factor? As humans, we are wired for connection. And when there's true connection, then those three things, the know like, and trust factor will be present. Connection is made when you really know someone. The human connection is really the foundational component in this know, like, and trust factor.
Before you, the leader, can create the know, like and trust factor with those you lead - I suggest you turn the mirror on to yourself. Do you know, like and trust YOU?
