WELCOME TO THIS MAGIC MONDAY MOMENT

Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).

original message date: 07/29/24

Happy Monday!

I do not consider myself a risk taker.  I mean – I’ve impressed myself with some of the things I’ve done that I would consider ‘risky’ – but it’s not what drives me by any means!

What typically stops me (and maybe you?) from taking risks or stepping outside of my comfort zone is fear.  Fear is necessary and can be helpful (it can save us from some really dangerous situations!) – but sometimes it is more of a hindrance.

Poppa from the 2015 Disney / Pixar film, “The Good Dinosaur” makes a good point when he said:

Fear has a message.  It’s telling you to be apprehensive and skeptical of the uncertain.   It’s wanting to protect you from things like embarrassment, disappointment and failure.

→ What if you don’t get the promotion?

→ What if you’re told ‘no’ when you ask for the raise?

→ What if nobody buys the book, comes to your presentation or shows up for your event?

→ What if you make a mistake, don’t cross the finish line or don’t lose the weight?

Helpful.

Until it’s not.

Because all of that can happen (and I’d argue you’d still be just fine..) OR none of it could happen!

→ What if you DO get the promotion and/or the raise?

→ What if your book sells out and your event is packed?

→ What if you learn from mistakes, cross the finish line and become as healthy as you imagined?

Fear will show up.  Invite it in.  And then make a choice: let fear stop you in your tracks, or give it a high-five, thank it for its good intention and make your way to the beauty on the other side.

What will you decide?

In what way is fear stopping you right now? Examine if you like your reasons and/or if there are things you might be missing out on!

Wishing you a wonderful week. You've got this!
