Everyone has a story. And that story goes way beyond what we see and hear on the surface.
The way we choose to see others shapes not only our relationships but also our own growth.
P.S. It certainly is not always easy to hold curiosity and compassion for everyone - especially when actions and behaviors of some truly put other humans in harm. We’ll just leave those folks out of this conversation…
This quote from Pollyanna (from the 1960 film, Pollyanna) holds a helpful lesson:
In leadership - and in life - it’s easy to focus on what’s missing, what needs fixing, or where people fall short (ourselves included).
But what if we intentionally looked for the strengths, talents, and potential in ourselves and those around us?
When we do:
✨ We create an environment of encouragement rather than criticism.
✨ We foster deeper, more meaningful connections.
✨ We elevate our impact by modeling kindness and trust.
This isn’t about ignoring challenges or glossing over areas that need improvement. It’s about choosing to lead from a place of possibility rather than limitation.
And here’s the best part: when we intentionally seek the good in others, we unlock something powerful within ourselves!
So, let’s go be a little “Pollyanna”!
