Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).

Happy Monday!
My niece just had her second baby(!). I’m so excited to witness another human learn, grow and develop – it’s the most amazing thing! And you know what is so cool? The fact that we all start out with ‘fresh brains’…meaning – we are willing to try things out – even if we don’t know the outcome.
Think about it – if a toddler stopped trying to walk when they fall after their first attempt – we’d all be scooting around on our knees!
Walt Disney summed it up a bit better than me when he said:
And it’s true. Most of the progress, successes, innovations and discoveries came about because someone chose to get back up after they fell down.
Falling down is something that we all do.
We make a mistake in our job. We take a chance on an idea and it doesn’t go as planned. We make a ‘bad’ choice because we were caught up in the moment. We say something that we didn’t mean. We eat the donut when we said we wouldn’t, or say no to the opportunity when we told ourselves we’d say yes or fail the test or miss out on the promotion or …. you get what I mean….
It happens to every single person. And often.
What creates the results we want versus the ones we don’t is based on what we do when we fall.
We can either learn from it, get up and try again (and again and again).
Or we can dwell on it, stay on the ground and not move.
So, what’s it going to be? Are you (metaphorically) ready to walk?
Think of a recent ‘fall’ you’ve experienced. What did you learn from it? How can you use that learning to create progress?
