WELCOME TO THIS MAGIC MONDAY MOMENT

Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).

Happy Monday!

It’s probably part of being the big Disney fanatic that I am….I use the word ‘magic’ A LOT. When I talk about magic – I am referencing a feeling - a way of being - that invokes possibility, inspiration and belief. I believe that we all have an innate ‘magic’ within us that, when really tapped into, helps us create the life we want AND impacts the world around us in the name of all things good.

Then there is the David Copperfield or David Blaine kind of magic – which is centered around mind-blowing illusions. Or the Fairy Godmother magic – which suggests a magic wand can be waved to get what you want (which I admit - would be pretty amazing! Lucky Cinderella...). It is these latter two types of magic that I believe Merida from Disney/Pixar’s Brave is referencing in this quote:

You don’t need a magic wand or any other external kind of magic to reach your goals, tackle obstacles and create the life you want.

And there is no secret formula. There aren’t any illusions to create that will trick your brain.

What you need is this:

✨ An openness to recognizing and leveraging what makes you you. Things like your experiences, your innate strengths and your personality preferences.

✨ A willingness to intentionally bring awareness to your thoughts – unearthing beliefs that don’t serve you and doing the work to clean them up.

✨ A commitment to having your own back. When the path gets bumpy, doubt and judgement creep in and you’re tempted to give up – you have to be willing to reallyfeel all the feelings (no buffering!) and cheer yourself on.

✨ A promise to take action, even when you don’t want to. Without massive action – the results you want will not be available to you.

As Merida says – you control your own destiny.

You don’t need magic – other than the kind that is already within you.

I believe in you. Do you?

Review the four bullet points. Assessing each on their own and using a scale of 1-10 – how would you rate your reaction to what you read (1 = I don’t even know where to being and 10 = I’m already there)? Based on your assessment – what can you do to bring your numbers closer to a 10?

Wishing you a wonderful week. You've got this!
