Happy Monday!
Happy September! For those in the U.S. – I hope you are enjoying your Labor Day holiday.
Labor Day weekend always unofficially marks the end of summer for us. It’s a bittersweet transition – as it’s tough to say goodbye to the long days, outdoor adventures and less structured schedules. At the same time – I look forward to sweatshirts, pumpkin spice and football!
As we kick off this month – I wanted to share a very simple quote from one of my very favorite characters, Kermit the Frog (from the Muppets):
It’s a good reminder about priorities. As someone who is all about the people – I love showing up for all the people in all the ways. And although I don’t ever think of myself as ‘important’ – I do know that I contribute value by helping others become their best selves.
However, it can be easy to get wrapped up in my own head. Trying to do all the things, serving in all the right ways…sometimes it’s a lot for the brain, the energy and the attention span.
Join me in remembering that, at the core, kindness is key. Kindness toward others AND kindness toward ourselves.
THAT is what is truly important.
