Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).

Happy Monday!
Have you ever had the experience where you are doing something that you love, feel excited about what’s in front of you AND, at the same time, feeling overwhelmed by the nagging worry that you’re not going to hit the mark?
I definitely have. As a matter of fact – I’ve been swimming in a little of that lately! And that’s why this quote from Barley Lightfoot from the 2020 Disney Pixar film, Onward, was the practically perfect one for me to stumble upon this week:
The voice of doubt is 100% human. I don’t know a single person who doesn’t experience that. When you look at the science behind it - it’s really simply our brain’s way of protecting us from the unknown and the uncertainly. But it usually doesn’t feel like protection!
The good news: To listen to that voice…to act from that voice…is a choice.
This may be a bit of an oversimplification, but here are the two paths this could take:
1️⃣ Agree with the voice (some flavor of “you can’t do this”) → feel discouraged → stop taking action, distract with social media, engage in a little mental beat-up → prove that you can’t do it by playing small
2️⃣ Thank the voice for its concern and decide on a new thought…”I am a passionate expert and I will speak from my heart’s fire.” → feel confident, grounded and abundant → get to work, show up and out loud, share you gifts with the world → create incredible results and a life you love
I know which path sounds better to me.😉
