Message from Ethan Clade
WELCOME TO THIS MAGIC MONDAY MOMENT
Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).
original message date: 05/08/23
Happy Monday!
Spring has finally arrived! We’ve gotten a lot of rain so far – which means everything is turning from brown to green. I’m loving it!
It also means that weeds are popping up everywhere. Isn’t it so interesting how some plants are simply referred to as plants…and others are referred to as weeds?
Weeds are unwelcome, so we remove them from the ground and get rid of them. Non-weeds are loved, nurtured and appreciated.
Perhaps weeds can be viewed differently, as Ethan Cade from Disney’s animated film, “Strange World” put it:
When I hear this quote – it makes me think about how it applies to life. When something doesn’t go as planned, unexpected change or failure occurs, or one of those pesky limiting beliefs rears its head….those can be viewed as weeds. Very inconvenient. A bit of an eyesore. Something you’d like to avoid or destroy as quickly as possible.
The truth is - you only see them as a weed because of the thought you have about them.
“It wasn’t supposed to happen that way.” “I knew I couldn’t do it”, “I’m just not good enough.”
With these type of thoughts – these ‘weeds’ are viewed as inconvenient, pesky and exhausting.
✨ But what if they aren’t weeds at all? What if these situations are actually plants? What if everything is happening just as it should? What might happen if you nurtured and appreciated the failure, change or limiting belief instead of tossing them aside?
You would look at it through a gentler lens. You would see what it is there to teach you. You would grow and get closer to your goals.
All weeds are simply plants. Pretty cool, huh?
What is something that you are currently viewing as a ‘weed’ in your life? What might it show you if you thought of it as a plant?
Wishing you a wonderful week. You've got this!
