Message from Anger
WELCOME TO THIS MAGIC MONDAY MOMENT
Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).

Happy Monday!
I’ve been working with an organization that is focusing on cultivating a culture of accountability in 2025—not in a “get it right or you’re in trouble” way, but in a “let’s do what we say we’re going to do, acknowledge when we don’t, and find healthy ways to course-correct, improve, and celebrate—all in service of our mission and goals” kind of way.
A key part of creating that culture is redefining what it means to make mistakes. Psychological safety—where people feel secure enough to admit missteps without fear—doesn’t just happen. It requires intentionality. It requires leadership. And that starts with you.
This quote from one of my favorite Disney/Pixar movies, Inside Out 2, captures it well. When Joy is beating herself up for making a mistake, Anger tells her:
How often do we let fear of failure or past missteps hold us back? We internalize mistakes as proof that we’re not good enough, rather than seeing them for what they are—opportunities for learning and growth. But as this quote suggests, if we let mistakes paralyze us, we’re essentially giving up on progress.
What if we reframed the way we think about ourselves and our missteps? What if, instead of self-criticism, we embraced the fact that we are human—and that our mistakes do not define us? When we shift our thinking, we build resilience, compassion, and perseverance.
That feels far better than the cycle of self-doubt and sabotage.
And it lays the foundation for trust and safety within your team.
Mistakes are inevitable. They don’t define our journey—our response to them does.
How can you reframe your thoughts about what it means to make mistakes?
Wishing you a wonderful week. You've got this!
