Message from Marty Sklar

WELCOME TO THIS MAGIC MONDAY MOMENT

Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).

Happy Monday!

There is much to be learned from the past…whether that ‘past’ is years ago or just last week.  There are always lessons: From the things that worked and things that didn’t work.  From the things that motivated us to the things that scared us.  From the things that felt solid to the things that felt risky ad unknown.

The key to making the most of those lessons is not rooting yourself too deep in the past.  Not getting stuck or paralyzed.

Imagineer and Disney Legend (and much more), Marty Sklar, started working with Disney in 1955.  He knew Walt Disney well and played a significant role in the shaping of the Disney we know today.  In recalling a bit of Walt’s approach, Marty said this:

This simple statement captures the heart of Walt’s legacy.  It shows us that the greatest leaders and innovators don’t discard history—they honor it.   They don’t get stuck because of past failures or fears – they persevere.   They don’t avoid the uncertainty and possible resistance of change – they focus on the possibilities and move forward.

Walt Disney drew inspiration from timeless stories, lessons, and values, using them as a foundation to create new and bold visions of the future.

Whether you're leading a team, building a business, or pursuing personal goals, take a page from Walt Disney’s book.   Lean into the past, learn from it, and use those lessons to propel yourself toward your vision of the future.

✨ The magic happens when you embrace both where you've been and where you're headed. ✨

Think about the experiences that have shaped you. How can they guide you as you take the next step toward something new and aligned with your goals?

Wishing you a wonderful week. You've got this!
