Message from Steve Rogers (Captain America)
WELCOME TO THIS MAGIC MONDAY MOMENT
Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).
original message date: 02/12/24
Happy Monday!
If you know me – you know how much I believe in the power of our thoughts. I love borrowing sentiments from other people that I find both inspiring and believable. It’s a total bonus if they come from a person or character under the Disney empire – like this line that Steve Rogers (Captain America) from the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) become known for:
To me, there are two contexts in which this mantra is helpful.
Way Number One:
When basking in the joy and satisfaction of doing something I love - like facilitating a workshop, engaging in a one-on-one coaching session, hanging out at a Disney park, traveling with my family or spending time on self-development work.
“I can do this all day” creates the feelings of gratefulness and peace. It allows me to reflect on how I can contribute my gifts to the world, cultivate relationships, be thankful for what’s around me and continue on the forever quest of evolving.
That’s the ‘easy’ one.
Way Number Two:
When facing adversity – whether it be stress, imposter syndrome, distraction or fear.
This way isn’t as easy.
It was while facing adversity that Steve Rogers (later to become Captain America) first said this line. He, at the time, was a scrawny kid who was standing up to a bully – refusing to back down. In that instance and every time he said it later – he was saying that he will continue to challenge for as long as the other person persists (and ultimately gives up).
It’s about determination, resilience, having your own back and staying the course.
Adversity shows up in a variety of ways – many of which are rooted in our very own thoughts and/or brain trying to protect us.
Imagine using the thought “I can do this all day” in the face of that adversity.
Empowering. ✨ Determined. ✨ Motivated. ✨ Strong.
Those are the feelings that will ultimately get you results, don’t you think?
Dang – I kinda feel like an Avenger. 😀💪
Try on the thought “I can do this all day” the next time you are questioning yourself, get distracted by others or some other form of challenge. What difference does that make?
Wishing you a wonderful week. You've got this!
