Message from Sox

WELCOME TO THIS MAGIC MONDAY MOMENT

Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).

original message date: 07/18/22

Happy Monday!

Have you seen the new Disney Pixar movie, ‘Lightyear’, yet?  I won’t give anything away – but in typical Disney/Pixar fashion - it is full of great life lessons!

This week – I’m sharing a quote from one of my favorite characters from the film – Sox.

At just the right moment – Sox says this to Buzz Lightyear:

There two paths this quote takes me.

The first is as though it is ME talking to YOU.  Because I feel so deeply called to help you create the life that you most want – especially in your in leadership and career journey.  That is a big part of your life – and how you feel about one thing ultimately impacts all things.

I see it as my mission – and even when I might experience self-doubt or a lull in client work or get caught up in managing a crazy kid schedule – I am not giving up on that mission.  It’s what I am here to do.

The second way I see this quote is as a thought for YOU to think.  A sentence for YOU to say to yourself.

Because I know (being a human myself and all…I am right there with you!) that you are hard on yourself.  Your brain puts up barriers to reaching your goals.  It throws up flags that cause you to think things like “who do I think I am?” or “I can’t do that” or “what will others think?” or “others first…I’ll get to me later.”.

But you have dreams.  You have goals.  You have uniqueness.  You have strengths.

And you need to be your biggest cheerleader.  You have to have your own back.

So say it to yourself.  Think it often:  “My mission is to help you and I’m not giving up on my mission.”

✨ Mean it.  ✨ Believe it.  ✨ And take action toward it.

What is one action you can take today that creates evidence that you have your own back?

Wishing you a wonderful week. You've got this!
