Happy Monday!
It's not a secret that Mary Poppins is one of my very favorite movies and that she is one of my very favorite characters. Her subtle approach to getting people to increase their own awareness, see their potential and create change sprinkled with her direct yet heartfelt wisdom and never-ending possibility is...well...practically perfect.
In the musical production of Mary Poppins, the song “Anything Can Happen” includes the lyrics for this week's magical quote:
I love the thought of reaching for the stars. That means that you are going for what you most desire, right? It means being ambitious in achieving something - even if it's difficult.
But what if you set your sights even higher? The stars, for the most part, are something that you can see (let's not get into all the sciency stuff here okay? Tap into imagination and go with me...).
What we can see has an element of safety - even if only a little. And that's good - reaching for the stars is GOOD.
But what else could there be? What is beyond what you can see? What are the even bigger dreams? What are the possibilities that make you more excited and nervous? That seem even more out of reach - like the heavens?
What if you set your sights THERE? You reach for the heavens - and the stars start to seem like a no-brainer.
And when you reach those heavens - you get the stars thrown in. Win win!
After all - anything is possible!
