WELCOME TO THIS MAGIC MONDAY MOMENT

Kicking off your week with some thoughts around a favorite Disney quote (because in my world - Disney is life!).

original message date: 01/23/23

Happy Monday!

The coaching clients I work with all have one thing in common.  They want to create change.  Sometimes it is change because of feeling unfulfilled or stuck.  Sometimes it is change in the form of taking their life to the next level and bring their goals/dreams to life.

As we do the work – there is always conversation about whose support they need and/or what relationships need strengthening.  It's that external component that contributes to success.

When you see this quote from Disney’s 2009 animated film, “The Princess and the Frog”, it might conjure up an image of who that person is that you couldn’t image doing this thing called life without:

But I challenge my clients, and you, to redefine the “you” in this quote.  If you were to recite this quote in the mirror – the person in the reflection is the “you” that your dream wouldn’t be complete without.

It seems to be much easier to beat ourselves up when things aren’t going the “right” way, to put undeserved pressure and too high of standards on ourselves and to discount our accomplishments as luck or a fluke.

But here’s the deal – your dreams, your change, your career decisions, your accomplishments – none of it can happen without you.

✨ You need to be your biggest fan.

✨ You need to provide yourself with the most support.

✨ You need to be kind, offer grace and extend compassion to yourself.

✨ You need to learn, evaluate and course-correct without shame, guilt and talking meanly to yourself.

The other people in your life are super-duper important (at least the relationships that are healthy!).  I am not suggesting to discount those.

But the one person that will always be with you – every minute of every day – is you.

Your dream will not be complete without you in it.

So give yourself a big hug and go make it happen – for you and with you.

Take notice of how you talk to yourself and lift yourself up. Is there opportunity to improve that? Where are you relying on others to provide you with validation, support and meaning-of-success?

Wishing you a wonderful week. You've got this!
